How to Host a World Nutella Day Party at Home!

While we’re all going to be celebrating online via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and our websites and blogs, many of you want to also celebrate offline with family and friends!

So in addition to all the Nutella Day craziness that you will be doing online, here’s some suggestions for hosting a party in honor of World Nutella Day at home!

Please Note! There are no official sponsored World Nutella Day parties offline. We encourage people to celebrate with friends and coworkers, then let us know about your online and offline celebrations via Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr!

Here are our suggestions to have a wacky World Nutella Day party of your own on February 5th!

What you might need (foodstuff):

  • NUTELLA! We suggest 150 grams for every 3 attendees, but you might want to start with the biggest jar you can find! The leftovers will keep :)
  • Bread – the fresher the better, with a good crust, cut into thick slices
  • Pretzels & breadsticks for those who “dip” (but don’t double dip!)
  • Fruit – strawberries, bananas, sliced apples, pears, kiwi, or whatever you like!
  • Something special made with Nutella – check our Recipes page for some great suggestions, from Cookies to Cakes to Pastries and Tarts!
  • Something not sweet – in case of Nutella fatigue, suggest to your friends to nibble on a carrot stick for a few minutes before diving back into the fray!

What you might need (party stuff):

  • Spoons – we suggest setting a double-dipping rule before hand
  • Napkins (it’s going to get messy – if you run out, suggest they just lick their fingers!)
  • Paper plates
  • Paper cups
  • A permanent marker (so people can label their plastic cups)
  • Water - they are going to be thirsty!
  • Cameras and videocameras – make sure you record everything and share it via Facebook, Twitter and your website!

Your World Nutella Day party invite:

We encourage you to get creative and funky with your invite, but in case you want to phone it in, here’s an example invite you might send to friends:

Nutella Games

Eating Nutella not enough entertainment for you? Here are some suggested games to play:

  • The Dip Trick : With their hands behind your back, pick up a breadstick in your mouth and then dunk it in an open jar of Nutella. Extra points if consumed without using hands and/or it doesn’t break.
  • Who am I? : Write a famous person’s name on small pieces of paper for everyone, stick a little dab of Nutella on the back and stick to forehead. Have the participants ask each other yes/no questions until they guess correctly who they are.
  • Spin the bottle Nutella jar : Put a Nutella jar on its side, spin it, and whoever it lands on gets to take a spoonful out
  • Blind Man’s Bluff Nutella : Blindfold one of the participants, and have them search the room for the hidden Nutella jar. Someone should volunteer to be the voice of the Nutella jar – we suggest a deep baritone.
  • Truth or Dare? : We shouldn’t need to tell you how to incorporate Nutella into this game.
